How Playing “Shift” Improves Your Well-Being
January 23 2022
Achieving inner peace and self-awareness isn’t always easy, but there are ways to connect with these essential parts of yourself so you can incorporate them into your daily life. One of the best ways to start connecting with yourself is through the game “Shift”. Here are some of the reasons why you should play:
1) Experience how Negative Thoughts Are Just passing Emotions
There’s nothing wrong with negative thoughts, emotions, or feelings. The goal is not to repress them; rather, it’s just to learn that they’re temporary and nothing but energy. Shift teaches us through play that we can look at our emotions in their passing and how we can build self-awareness.
2) Practicing an Attitude of Gratitude
A gratitude practice is a simple way to increase positive emotions, which have been linked with all sorts of benefits, including stress reduction, improved sleep quality, and increased optimism. Shift allows you to practice being mindful of things for which you are grateful.
3) Chanting Positive Affirmations
Affirmations serve as reminders of things we already know deep down, even if we haven’t consciously acknowledged them before. For example, starting each day by looking in a mirror and repeating positive statements, like I’m grateful for my friends or I look forward to today. Playing the game Shift allows you to exercise your affirmation skills set so they become part of your daily routine. Eventually, they’ll become habitual and ingrained into your life.
4) Participating with Others in Generating Happy Moments
If you’re looking for some ways to shift your internal experience, try participating in activities like playing Shift as a way to generate good vibes among friends. Playing with family or friends can promote happiness, gratitude, and endorphins—all of which positively impact how we perceive ourselves.
5) Move your Body with Harmony
The game of Shift requires that you do some yoga poses so as to move your body with harmony. You can exercise making your movements deliberate—taking deep breaths before a movement and breathing out fully while moving in slow motion. A healthy body will become more aware as it uses each of its senses, including sight, sound, smell, taste, touch and intuition (or knowing). The more you move your body with harmony, the more attuned you’ll be to how each part affects every other part.
Now more than ever we need tools that help center and empower us. Allow the game Shift to guide you to your inner treasure enriching your life and the lives of those close to you.
